Cork was extensively flooded in 2005 and we dealt with a significant number of claims in the Cork City area. Without exception, these were dealt with to the Client’s satisfaction and in all these cases we presented and negotiated the claims for structural damage to completion.
There was extensive damage in Cork City and the towns of Bandon, Clonakilty and Skibbereen in November 2009. This office handled numerous claims involving dwellings and commercial premises. The damage was extensive and indeed devastating for the people concerned. Due to the volume of claims huge delays were experienced but we pulled out all the stops to ensure that our Clients got the best possible settlements and as quickly as possible.
A case is being considered against the ESB in terms of release of water from Inniscarra dam and we believe this will be held in the Commercial Court. This is clearly of interest to Insurers and Policyholders in the context of recovery of “insured” and “uninsured” losses.
